Daddy's Little Golfer

Drew got a little set of golf clubs from Jim's sister, Sharon, for Christmas. Now that the weather is nice, we decided to get the clubs out the other night and let Drew try them out. He LOVED them!
Jim showed him how to swing his clubs.

Drew swung his clubs so much that he wore a little blister onto his finger, and he cried when it was time to go inside. He has a new favorite outdoor activity, I think.

George (Again!) and Krispy Kremes

It has been a while since I last blogged, and it isn't that I haven't wanted to. I really haven't had too much to blog about. Drew and I have both been struggling with a lot of allergy problems for the last two weeks, so we have been trying to stay inside as much as possible. That has made for a couple of fairly uneventful weeks.
We actually got out yesterday, so I have something to share! Drew and I met Beth, Joseph, and Grant Scally at the mall yesterday afternoon to see Curious George. I posted a month or two ago about the first time Drew met George. He was equally excited to see George again this time.

George got a high-five and some hugs.
After our visit with George, we took the boys across the mall parking lot to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. They were very excited about eating doughnuts.
Drew liked his doughnut but didn't want to touch it with his hands. He kept bending over and taking bites from it.
Joseph dug right in and ate a whole doughnut.
They were just barely tall enough to look through the window and watch the doughnuts go by.
The boys got hats, and they enjoyed putting them on and then throwing them onto the floor, over and over again.

When it was time for us to go, I told Drew to hold my hand. He wanted to hold Joseph's hand instead.
These boys are so funny, and we are looking forward to watching their friendship develop as they get older!

Mother's Day

I had a nice Mother's Day with my guys this weekend. Jim and Drew took me out for dinner at Mongolian Barbeque on Saturday night. Then, Jim made an apple coffee cake for breakfast yesterday, and he made lunch for his mom and me after church yesterday afternoon. Jim made our entire lunch on the grill. He grilled chicken (with a marinade he made himself), some seasoned potatoes, and baked beans (on the side burner of the grill). It was all very good! My Mother's Day gift was our trip to Greenville at Spring Break. I also got a nice card, and we are going to go to Home Depot this week to get some hanging baskets of flowers for the front of our house. It was a nice day (until allergies hit in the late afternoon).
I also want to share the Mother's Day project the fourth graders made for their moms. They made "To Do" lists for their moms using 8x10" picture frames. The moms can write their lists right on the glass with dry-erase markers and then wipe them off at the end of the week. These were very easy, and I think they turned out so cute! I am planning to make myself one this summer, and my mom just might get one too. :)
I hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

In honor of National Scrapbooking Day today, I'd like to share a few recent pages I have made. Many of them use pictures I have posted on my blog in the past few months, and now that they are scrapped, I am sharing them again. If you would like to see any picture larger, click on the picture. These pages are all based on sketches from http://pagemaps.com.
